Fighter

Chapter 5 · Classes of the Realm

Fighter

Fighters are the most common adventurers in Aeloria because danger is not solved by theory alone. Someone has to stand on the bridge when the ward fails. Someone has to escort the survey team into the ruin. Someone has to duel the arrogant noble’s champion, hold the laboratory door, or keep their head when the prototype starts screaming.

Fighters

Fighters are the most common adventurers in Aeloria because danger is not solved by theory alone. Someone has to stand on the bridge when the ward fails. Someone has to escort the survey team into the ruin. Someone has to duel the arrogant noble’s champion, hold the laboratory door, or keep their head when the prototype starts screaming.

Aelorian fighters include soldiers, guards, duelists, caravan escorts, academy athletes, monster hunters, mercenaries, town defenders, noble cadets, and practical veterans who have survived more than one magical disaster.

Fighters and the Modern Age

Technology has changed martial training. A fighter might specialize in:

  • spring-assisted blades,
  • shard-lamped shields,
  • collapsible polearms,
  • alchemical sidearms if your table uses them,
  • dueling sabers,
  • heavy infantry gear,
  • crossbows with precision sights,
  • shield formations around casters,
  • or anti-mage tactics.

The best fighters understand that in Aeloria, the battlefield may include smoke, unstable platforms, illusions, sudden darkness, animated tools, panicked civilians, and someone shouting “Do not touch the blue wire!” too late.

Fighters at the Grand Scholarium

Fighters fit naturally into the Grand Scholarium. A school full of ambitious young inventors, duelists, nobles, smugglers, and magical experiments absolutely needs people trained to handle trouble.

They fit especially well as:

  • dueling-club champions,
  • security cadets,
  • veteran students,
  • military scholarship recipients,
  • noble sword academy graduates,
  • expedition guards,
  • athletic rivals,
  • or practical protectors of less durable friends.

Suggested Scholarium Connections

  • Null-Bouts — Head Proctor Kurg
  • Ballistic Metallurgy — Professor Nisha “Flash” Jaro
  • Measure Yards & Foundries — Overseer Rurik “Iron-Jaw”
  • Ethical Containment — Professor Brenda Iron-Ward
