Orcs have a complicated place in Aelorian memory. Old histories and popular stories often describe raiders, tunnel wars, frontier violence, and catastrophes without distinguishing among different orc communities. Modern orcs may come from southern settlements, underground communities, frontier clans, migrant families, military service, trade routes, or families that have lived beside other Aelorians for generations.
Prejudice exists. Guards may watch an orc too closely, and professors may praise “remarkable discipline” in a way that reveals their assumptions. This tension should provide context, not force a character into constant misery or make ancestry the only subject of play.
Orcs at the Grand Scholarium
An orc student may be a scholarship recipient, field researcher, military cadet, historian, engineer, healer, advocate, or the child of a family determined to claim institutional space long denied to them.
